Help Map Edina’s Vision at Upcoming Events

Edina, Minn., April 12, 2017 – People can help shape Edina’s future by participating in one or more upcoming events for the 2018 Comprehensive Plan Update.

  • Big Ideas Workshop, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, Public Works & Park Maintenance Facility, 7450 Metro Blvd.
  • Big Picture Workshop, 8 a.m.-4p.m. Saturday, April 22, Public Works & Park Maintenance Facility, 7450 Metro Blvd.
  • Comprehensive Plan Community Kick-off Meeting, 7 p.m. Monday, May 8, Braemar Golf Course, 6364 John Harris Drive.

The Comprehensive Plan is a document required by the Metropolitan Council to guide development, prepare for changes in the community such as increased traffic, and give an outline of how to address other factors that may have an impact on people, businesses and quality of life. It’s also used as a basis for developing programs and directing where to spend tax dollars.

An update to Edina’s plan is due at the end of 2018. Public input is now sought to help as the two-year process begins.

The workshops will talk about how to incorporate themes from “Vision Edina,” the 2015 strategic vision for the City, into the Comprehensive Plan.  The kick-off meeting will celebrate the launch of the project. These events are free and open to everyone.
